The Gig

About tiredness, wanted rest and responsibility

Today is very simple. Nothing mystical, thoughtful or profound, but real and truthful.

I'm exhausted. A feeling I'm not used to experiencing, luckily or oddly, but today it's very present. Very much.

That feeling of wanting the world to pause, just for a moment, so every responsibility, every duty, everything that needs done, stops with it.

From days that go fast, almost vanishing at times, chores waiting for their turn, and to-dos that stack up. To feeding cycles that never stop, can't be skipped, can be erratic, and rely completely on us (it's not just about me). Because at the end of the day, there's a baby who needs it, tired or not, feeling like doing it or not. That's the gig.

All of it on top of scarce, broken sleep.

So yes, eventually, it gets to you. It was a matter of time, I guess...

Being able to go and go with little to no rest has served me well. I'm lucky. But damn, today I'm feeling it.

Today, I just want to lay here, rest, and close my eyes. Just for a little moment.

Nothing more, nothing less.
