About

Here Then Gone. A visual and written journal. A place to collect moments in time and give them a place where they live after they're gone. A place to preserve and to remember.

I'm Joseph Emmi. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, but I'm always moving around the world. I take pictures, I look around, observe, reflect, wonder and write things down. I preserve, almost like a historian.

People, faces, places. All moments, transient feelings, eventual memories. Curiosity, opportunity or luck. Sometimes all three. That's how I define my images, and what drives me to take them.

I don't care about poses; all I want, and look for, is that moment in time right before it goes away. That moment that can never be brought back; knowing that every instant only happens once, because even if you try it again, it will be a mere recreation.

Cities and people change. Light moves. Moments occur. Memories accumulate. This is where I keep them, if I'm lucky to capture them.
